Information for On-Campus/Online Students

Web Registration (WebReg)

  • On-campus/online students have the option of registering for courses using LOIS. WebReg allows students the convenience of registering day or night from their home, office, or dorm room.
  • Students can view course status information in "real-time," add or drop additional courses, and receive immediate confirmation of registration requests.
  • See the academic calendar for information on specific WebReg start dates and times.

Walk-in/Mail-in Registration

  • Off-campus students registering for courses outside of their cohorts may register either by mail or in person by submitting a paper registration form. This option is also available for on-campus students.
    • Completing the registration form accurately is crucial. All course numbers, letters, and section numbers must be exact.
    • Payment must accompany all registrations.
  • Mail the completed registration form, with payment or credit card authorization form (check/money order, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa with name, number, and expiration date on card) to: Lesley University, Office of the University Registrar, 29 Everett Street, Cambridge, MA 02138-2790.
  • Any material postmarked or dropped off after the last day of the mail-in/drop-off registration period will be processed during late registration and subject to all associated fees.
  • Course registration confirmations are not mailed to students. Check registration status using My Class Schedule on LOIS.

Adding/Dropping Courses

  • Courses must be added or dropped before the second class meeting with the exception of students enrolled in intensive classes of six or fewer class meetings--these students must add or drop prior to the start of a course.
  • Students in Lesley College and LCAL programs must obtain their advisor's signature in order to add or drop courses.
  • Courses may be dropped in person, by mail, or by email. We do not accept add/drop requests by phone.
  • Please be sure to include your Lesley ID number and the course number(s) for those course(s) being dropped or added.

Late Registration

  • Registration or add/drop forms must be submitted before the second scheduled course meeting. Exceptions are students enrolling in intensive or weekend intensive classes of six or fewer class meetings. These students must register or drop prior to the start of the course. Payment must be submitted, late fees apply.

Advisor Approval and Advisor/Student Signatures

  • Students enrolled in any undergraduate program must have their advisor’s signature on the registration form or advisor’s approval to access WebReg.
  • Paper registration forms without a student signature and date will not be processed.

Auditing Policy

  • Lesley students may not audit any course for which they intend to receive academic credit.
  • The decision to audit a course or take a course for credit is made at the time of registration and cannot be changed after initial registration.
  • Although no credit is earned for an audited class, full tuition is charged for the course.
  • A grade of "AUD" will appear on the transcript for any course taken on an audit basis.

Prerequisites

  • Courses requiring prerequisites are noted in the "section information" screen, accessed by clicking on the course title link after searching the current course information listing on LOIS.
  • Students will not be permitted to register for courses without having taken the necessary prerequisites. Exceptions can be made if accompanied with approval by the school or program designee.

Withdrawing from a Course

  • The effective date of a course drop or withdrawal is the date on which you notify Lesley.
  • Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal. Be sure you notify us if you decide not to attend a course.
  • See the academic calendar for drop and withdrawal deadlines. The deadlines are final; there are no exceptions.
  • Remember: changes to your schedule can affect financial aid.
  • Students who drop or withdraw from courses are granted refunds according to the prevailing withdrawal refund schedule.
  • Students withdrawing from intensive or weekend intensive courses must notify the Office of the University Registrar prior to the start of the course in order to receive any refund.
  • Students may not withdraw from a course during its last five class meetings.

Canceled Courses and Course Changes

  • Every effort will be made to notify students of closed and canceled courses.
  • Students should check My Class Schedule or Current Course Information on LOIS for the most up-to-date class schedule information.
